I offer teletherapy to individuals throughout New Zealand, and in-person sessions within Marlborough.

I specialize in support to those with:

• Speech sound difficulty E.g., incorrect patterns of sound use, immature speech patterns, lisps, accent modification 
• Language delay or disorder - including delays associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Difficulty reading
• Poor phonological awareness skills (i.e. Important early literacy skills focused on sound manipulation like syllable segmentation, sound substitution etc.) 
• Learning difficulties e.g. Dyslexia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
• Stuttering
• Global delays/disorders
• Down Syndrome
• Brain Injury/Concussion

What is involved?

Firstly, get in touch with me to discuss some of the basic concerns you have.

Next, we can make an appointment to begin assessment/consultation and to ensure the services I offer are a good fit with you or your family's needs.

Assessment may be completed within the first session or may take more than one session depending on the situation. Following assessment, the results will be discussed with you and a plan developed for therapy. Families often organize a set of therapy sessions scheduled in advance to ensure continual availability and service.

When working with children, I use your child's interests and my own therapy tools to make sessions fun and interesting while goal focused. Therapy sessions will focus on embedding goals into daily routines and activities. When working with children, I will often include the parent if possible/desired to help the goals carry over to everyday situations. I ensure that parents have the skills and materials to practice what they've seen and learned after our sessions ensuring faster progress.

Assessment sessions are typically an hour, while intervention sessions are typically 45 minutes.

Fee Schedule

• An initial phone consultation is free, decide if my experience and style of intervention is a good fit for you and your child
• Assessment Session(s)- $165/hour
• Assessment Report - a flat rate of $250 for a detailed professional report useful for sharing with other health professionals or family members summarizing findings and key goal areas. Available upon request
• Intervention sessions - $135 - 45 minutes in duration
• 30 minute sessions are available in certain situations for $90
• Travel and commuting time is charged outside of Blenheim CBD

How Can I Pay?

Internet banking is the preferred means, with invoices provided following the sessions. Receipts can be provided upon request.

Online speech and language therapy

Online therapy is also known as teletherapy and refers to therapy offered through shared computer screens. Teletherapy can be carried out using a home computer or tablet, and even a smartphone. You'll need a quiet space and a strong, consistent internet connection. 

Teletherapy can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy for adults and when an active, engaged parent is present and willing to give new ideas a go it can be very effective for children too. Sometimes I will get a bit silly to ensure we keep the child's engagement and we may change the length or frequency of the sessions to better accommodate your child's needs. I will use toys, puppets, simple games/activities online and your child's own favorite toys to help us achieve our goals.

Teletherapy can reduce travel time, and allow sessions to be completed when your child's attention is optimal or adults in the home are more readily available. I utilize the Zoom platform for teletherapy sessions which requires a quick software download, but no cost to families to use.
